[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Ghoulia Yelps
Age: 16 (In "Monster Years"), appears 16.
Gender: F
Canon: Monster High
Timeline: Shortly after the events of "Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love?"

Background:
Here's her Monster High Wiki Page! Also: She kept her memories from her previous time here at Soul Campaign. Aside from disappearing for a while, nothing really changed for her.

Personality:
Ghoulia's a zombie! Typically, being a zombie would mean that she wouldn't exactly have a personality at all beyond "om nom brains" and "unnghghhhh" paired with dull, lifeless shambling. In the case of zombies at Monster High? Well, there's still some of that, but that's definitely not the case for her personality. More than anything, she's just your average high school girl! To put it into perspective, she'd fit the nerd stereotype; but she's not the kind of nerd to get bullied or picked on, she's actually well-accepted amongst just about everyone despite her shyness and she's looked up to for her smarts. She's referred to as the "Smartest ghoul at Monster High".

So let's get into that, shall we? Smartest ghoul? A zombie? It's far more likely than you'd think, though she's particularly humble about her intelligence. You wouldn't find her sitting on a throne, expecting everyone to bow down to her brainy talents. She's more the type of girl you'd find huddled up under a tree, fascinated with her favorite comic or sitting to herself typing away on her laptop. She's entirely willing to help others so long as they ask, of course, especially if it's something she can put her brain to use to do! She's a particular fan of following the rules as well, and has her own ways of outsmarting others who think they're going to take advantage of her for negative purposes. A perfect example of such behavior occurred when she deliberately waited until the very end of a test to rapidly fill out all the answers (rapidly? For a zombie? Bafflement at this bizarre combination is well-warranted) so that another student could not copy her. Of course, it ended in a positive "lesson learned" in that the other student realized she should've studied to begin with.

Now, it's definitely worth noting that while Ghoulia has her specific group of friends, she's basically friends with everyone. Among her friends, though, she's best friends with Cleo de Nile. The two may have their moments of disagreements and moments where they dislike eachother, but that's what being friends is about! Ghoulia and Cleo are best friends and they both accept eachother for who they are (even if Cleo doesn't always show it). Ghoulia is a particularly large graphic novel fan, with an obvious bias for her favorite titled "Dead Fast", and even with how smart as she is she hasn't figured out that it was Cleo who managed to get her the copy of Dead Fast #0 that she'd been coveting. In addition to Cleo, Ghoulia is close friends with Clawdeen and her brother Clawd Wolf as a result of how they look out for her. Be it Clawd's help with getting her around or Clawdeen's help in dealing with other Ghouls, they quickly became friends. Though once she obtained a scooter to get around on, she didn't need as much of Clawd's help, but that didn't change them being friends.

Breaking more of the 'zombie' stereotypes, Ghoulia's not the type to simply shamble around waiting for things to happen. If she realizes that there's something that needs to be done to resolve something and she has the ability to resolve it? She's going to. If she's figured something out in her head, she's going to go do it as soon as she can; especially if it helps others. A notable example of such behavior was when, at Monster High, a ridiculous combination of bad-luck inducing events all happened on the same day (specifically Friday the 13th and also the 31st of October; on the same day, don't ask how) and despite being given an amulet by Cleo (because it didn't go with Cleo's outfit), one that would counteract the effects for anyone near the amulet, Ghoulia wandered off despite being told to stay near. The reason, of course, was that simply protecting her small group of friends wasn't as important as going to end all of the bad luck completely that was affecting the entire school. Once the bad luck had ended, then all was well again! In addition, once the more prominent problem was solved, Ghoulia added that the amulet actually does go with Cleo's outfit.

Let's move on to how she actually functions, day to day. For a zombie, her typical approach is actually pretty slow. She functions best when running on a schedule planned in advance. She likes knowing what she's doing, what follows that, and what she has later on to do. Last minute changes are definitely not her favorite thing and, honestly, they throw her for a loop. A notable example of her slowness paired with dislike for unpredictability, acknowledged and mentioned by Ghoulia herself is "Everyone thinks I am so smart, but if I were really intelligent, I would carry an umbrella with me wherever I go" in response to how unpredictable rainstorms can be. Even just going to get the mail from her home to her mailbox, the time spent moving between the two is enough for a surprise rainstorm that could leave her drenched. Really, umbrella, that'd be smart to have. But she doesn't typically expect the unexpected, she plans around what she knows and what she expects to happen.

Which is why computer issues are crippling. They are both unexpected and particularly hard to deal with, but given her brains? She'll be able to fix it, but it'll take her by surprise and leave her a little frazzled until she gets a plan together. It's not that she can't handle the change, she just absolutely doesn't like it. She likes her plans, she likes following her plans, and she likes when things don't change.

Ghoulia enjoys the company of others, she gets along with others, and in general she usually doesn't have anything negative she'll hold against others. But she'll certainly try what she can in order to try to dissuade further negative behavior from others.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Ghoulia's around to make friends and solve problems. Though this doesn't mean she's not going to sit around and do nothing pertaining to the war. She's going to formulate a plan and put it into action, because she's certainly not going to sit around and let the side with people she's friends with just lose. She may be slow at moving around, but her plans can be lightning quick.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
N/A

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Durability (Loss) - Being an undead Zombie outside of the Monster High universe is definitely a disadvantage. She's certainly much less durable in comparison to a living human, and she still has all the disadvantages that living folks do!

[ WEAPON ]

Soul Description:
Intelligent, Understanding, Compassionate, Calculating, Loyal, Artistic

Basic Appearance: Blue soul with horned glasses and long, blue hair with lighter blue highlights.

Chainsaw / Ability:
Ghoulia becomes a chainsaw, the finest of clichéd horror film anti-zombie weapons in existence, that takes the place of (or rather, surrounds) the Meister's hand. If familiar with the Evil Dead? Imagine that chainsaw, you'd be imagining the correct thing. As she builds resonance with her meister, the power and size of her chainsaw blades increases appropriately. At full resonance, she's able to cut through things that one would not typically be able to cleave through with a chainsaw. In addition, as her resonance increases, two small demon horns that are the same as the ones on her glasses form on the chainsaw's body; the horns absolutely go with everything, especially her chainsaw form. If she's going to be fulfilling zombie stereotypes, she's at least going to do it in her own style as time goes on.

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person
[Video] - [Early Morning]

[ As the video blips on, the viewers are greeted with a slow blink of one eye followed by the other, and... really, what looks like a blank stare from a pale girl droopy jaw. Ghoulia, everyone, is actually pretty pleased that the video works. ]

Hello, everyone.

[ She attempts a smile, and it doesn't really turn into one... but it's clear she's at least trying. ]

I don't suppose there are any fellow comic enthusiasts amongst you? I would love a fellow fan to chat with. [ A pause ] That's all. Thank you, for your time.

[ And with that, there's a few long moments of pause where she slowly fumbles with turning the video off. She's not the quickest, okay? ]

Third-Person
The floor is cold. That's the first thing that Ghoulia notices, especially since she's laying face down on it. Unfortunately, fixing that isn't going to happen quickly. Slowly she's focusing on getting up. One limb at a time. Honestly, zombie coordination really doesn't help with the whole quickly-getting-up thing; especially when she already has enough issues blinking her eyes. Either way, while she's getting up, there are television screens turning on. Too much at once.

Even so, she listens.

Unfortunately, she doesn't move at all while the situation is explained, which leaves Ghoulia suspended in an odd, slightly-propped-up state as she takes in what she's being told. Witch attacks, BREW bringing her here, and no going home until this is all over. At the very least, she'll have stories to tell to get back. She was practically becoming a super heroine in her own right, wasn't she? Dead Fast, hold on to your hero title, you've got a rival in the works yet!

But first, enough laying around. Meister or Weapon, things to do around the city, join Shibusen and fight the witches or be a civilian, contact the others, use the portable communicator... first she needs to get up. She's up to her knees, at least, and already it's time to be escorted elsewhere. It's all too fast, all too quick, but at the very least things don't seem dangerous. She'll need a plan once she stops, some kind of a proper approach, and after that? Well, after that is simply making the plan better, making friends, and figuring out what to do about the whole "war" situation.

One thing at a time, though, one issue at a time. Ghoulia's finally on her feet, and her escort's not likely to realize just how much time they'll need to get her where she's going; or how many questions Ghoulia has. Oh well. One foot in front of the other, it at least gives her time to ask some questions.

Notes
Ghoulia canonically speaks in "Zombie", a language of groans that can actually be understood by those who have enough exposure to it. Fortunately, like when she was previously here in Death City, BREW will handle the challenging task of translating for her. But, as was the case last time: "Guests will be able to glean a few words here and there in her language when they first speak with her outside of text communication. However, Guests will be able to pick up what she's saying quickly enough."

And, of course: Ghoulia is actually physically a zombie! But she's not like the ones in the movies. She doesn't crave brains, and she's totally killable and can't infect other people to make them into zombies. She's just your everyday genius undead high school girl.
